Ten things I love about MSF – number 9

This is a series of posts “10 things I love about MSF” why I am supporting them and why I think you should too although they are in no particular order…

I love the MSF Access campaign, it’s purpose is to push for access and the development of life-saving and life prolonging medicines, diagnostic tests and vaccines.

  • People die of common diseases because medicines are too expensive.
  • New drugs which could save lives are not developed as they are not deemed commercially viable
  • There is little research into tropical diseases which disproportionately affect those in developing countries
  • Diagnostic tests are unavailable so people get the wrong treatment

MSF aims to close some of these gaps, taking on the pricing monopolies of drug companies and conducting research into the areas most needed.
